Kingstale

Kingstale is one of the oldest realms, dating back several thousand years and is believed to be the birthplace of the halfling. Many have established townships around the country and Kingstowne is the largest city, ruled by monarchs that are human. Humans came into existence when the country was deep at war, 500 years ago. The raiders and warriors came to make their claim on the land located in a climate that is desired by many. Humans and halflings get along, although it is said raiders and slavers often times find what they want on the outskirts. This is a country of busy commerce and constant growth. It has seen it's fair share of war though, having just ended one ten years ago. Several cities were decimated in the great five year war, and now they are continuing to rebuild.

Major Cities:Kingstowne is the largest city, sprawling at least fifty miles in all directions

Religion: Several religions are in the country, with most centering around Mave and Mawde, the great father and mother

Races: Human, Halfling, half-races

Climate: Mild year round with a few cold days. Stormy season is three months out of the year

Dangers in the land: Thugs, raiders, and gangs are the most worriesome, the cities being a place known for pickpockets and muggings. While not as dangerous in the lands they are more resilient, and keep coming back for more. Robbery is common as well, merchants and travellers shaken down for "protection". On the outskirts you have Raiders and Slavers that ambush cart travelling to and from the city. They often leave nothing left, slaughter the horses or transports and take all the goods. A few have been known to kill the drivers, taking as much as their clothes and teeth.

Major exports: Diamonds, ale, wine, mercenaries, fine clothes, livestock, books, jewelry, steel, much more.

Main areas: Kingstowne is the largest city, stretching about 50 miles from end to end, though it is not all densely packed (the outskirts resemble a small town, rather than a large city). It is separated into districts: the Royal District, which contains the Royal Palace; the Market District, which contains the vast majority of businesses in the city; the Harbor, which is on the edge of the city (and the entire continent, for that matter); Mave's District, the smallest of all districts, which olds houses of worship; the Residential District, in which most residents reside; and the Outskirts, the largest district by land area, which holds residencies, businesses, and other buildings. The businesses found in the Outskirts are usually not as wealthy or well-known. 




The Grey Plain is one of the few areas in Kingstale that is sparsely populated. It is, as the name suggest, a huge area of land, nearly entirely flat, covered in gray-green grass. This area is noteworthy only because it is the home of the Derents.
