Aurora had an aura of joy as she made appearances about camp, it was her duty as she felt to keep morale high amongst her people. She spread a cheery message of "Good Morning!" as she collected edible mushrooms in and around the series of tents. It wasn't just deer her Clan was after; in the wild almost anything that could be cooked was of value. The winter had depleted Elstown's stock of food and it was important they replenished it before fall. The journey to eastern Miras Wrath had been completed without a hitch and with a little luck, the clan would spend the week unseen before returning to Ivaria with their bounty.
"Morning touched one, but I can't say its a good one. The wolves have beaten us. We'll have to send hunting parties further into the Wrath if we are to find enough game. It may be a season of snares." Aurora knew it wasn't good news, but it was hardly the worst news that she could have been given. "Ya, but the sun still shines. It's a good morning." Maybe, it would mean she could see even more new sights. "I could always accompany a party, maybe it would do some good?"
"You know your father would never allow that, what if you're seen?" Roc was the voice of reason, but Aurora had inherited an independent spirit from her parents that even he could hardly contain. "But you're not my father," Aurora flashed an innocent grin, "and we won't be seen." The sun was barely peeking over the mountains that flanked them; if they left now they could easily be back by sundown. Roc could hardly argue with the daughter of the North Star. "If I allow it, will you promise to be safe and stay close? The hunters will be your guards." "Of course," It wasn't like she planned to run off. "I'll even bring you back some berries." It was a beautiful day. Aurora left her mushrooms with the cooks and skipped off with an empty bag to the crew just departing camp.
The group made their way carefully west. Six skilled hunters searching for a large score and Aurora, as enchanting as ever in a gown dyed blue with Els, searching for a bush of blueberries or raspberries. They kept an eye out for spies of the enemy, but they were confident in their ability to remain undetected.
